Dear member and good friends,

First off, I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that came along to the Chieftain’s Gathering welcome event a couple of weeks ago at the splendid Bobby’s Rabble. There was a great atmosphere on the night, and it seemed like everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, but that might have been because of the Tunnock’s caramel wafers…

Special thanks go to Dave McEwan and his bar manager Brandon for looking after us all so well. I’m sure we will be back again soon!

I have some dates for you all to mark in your calendars.  The next gatherings will take place on

Thursday,  13th October :  Chieftain’s Gathering featuring the Clansman Lifestyle, @ Cooshti 6:30-8:30pm.

Saturday,   29th October :  Family Beach Day @ Repulse Bay 3:00pm onwards

We then hit November when we will host the St. Andrew’s Dinner, or if the government relax some more of their restrictions, we will hold a “Ball” with some live music. Fingers crossed!

Saturday, 26th November : St. Andrew’s Ball @ Hong Kong Football Club

Following hot on the heels of that event will be the St. Andrew’s Race Night at Happy Valley.

Wednesday, 30th November : St. Andrew’s Quaich @ Happy Valley Racecourse

Further details and ticketing for all of the events will come out in due course.

With the positive news that the HK Rugby 7’s will take place from the 4th to the 6th of November, I am delighted to say that our friends over at Hong Kong Scottish have offered our members direct access to tickets. The price of the ticket for all three days remains at HK$1,950.  If this is something you would be interested in, please email us at and we will pass your details on.  The deadline for applications is Thursday, 29th September.

I’d also like to let you know about another offer from one of our partners, Nutrition Kitchen. Please check out the membership benefits page for the full details of the offer.

I would like to remind you all that the membership renewal date for the society starts on the 1st May each year.  We appreciate there may have been a bit of confusion regarding renewals earlier this year, but we are working through our records, hence we may be in touch with a gentle reminder to renew your fees if you have indeed lapsed.  We hope that all the bugs have been squashed in our system and we appreciate your patience on this matter.
